Berchtesgaden Christl Kurz is one of the pioneers of healthy vegetarian cuisine internationally. When the word “organic” was still a foreign word and organic vegetables were considered exotic, Christl Kurz was already right in the middle of the action and made vegetarian cooking her purpose in life and a family affair. For more than 40 years now, Christl and her daughter Gabi have been designing the vegetarian cooking landscape. Gabi Kurz carried this passion “from meadow to desert” to the Persian Gulf in 2007: to Dubai, as Resort Wellbeing Chef at Madinat Jumeirah. Since 2019, mother and daughter have been at the stove more often in Berchtesgaden when Gabi is not working internationally for advice and training.

The artist duo wants to inspire exhibition visitors to approach the “green stuff” far away from white plates from a different perspective and to explore the direct influence of food on their own bodies. Her five-part work “Building Blocks of Life” illustrates the different beneficial effects of food on our organism. The room installation is interactive and invites you to create your own vegetarian menu from the raw products shown on the wooden cubes, which balances body, mind and soul and keeps them healthy. The insight after a round of “rolling the dice”: “You are what you eat. ”
