Otto Koch

181 / München / 1 Michelin Stern

Otto Koch was once one of Germany's “young savages” and, together with Eckart Witzigmann, revolutionized the local gourmet landscape. That was forty years ago now. As a pioneer of the finest cuisine, he was active for a very long time and set new culinary standards time and again. At the lofty height of Restaurant 181 in the Munich TV Tower, he let his creativity run wild from 2009 to 2014, even though the former young savage is now calmer and more relaxed and passes on his expertise in catering consulting all over the world.

For WHITE PLATE, Otto Koch opens up his private realm and gives an insight into his way of looking at and experiencing the world. For him, art, in the spirit of Paul Klee, does not reproduce the visible, but makes visible. And this is how WHITE PLATE reveals Otto Koch's love for food, the “four elements” and his understanding of the essence of all being.
